SOPs & process docs

Standard operating procedures that write themselves from real clicks, and stay accurate because replacing one takes about two minutes.

Documentation that keeps up

Captured, not typedSteps, screenshots and highlights are generated from what you actually do on screen.

Re-record on changeWhen the tool changes, capture it again instead of hunting through a stale doc.

Owned and governedRoles, workspaces and per-item permissions keep the right people in control.

How it works

1

Record

Hit record, then click through your workflow the way you normally would.

2

Auto-generate

Knovvy writes the steps, screenshots, captions and chapters, and keeps the video.

3

Share

Send a link, embed it, or export to PDF, HTML, or Markdown in one click.

Making SOPs that survive

The economics, not the discipline

Documentation does not rot because people are lazy. It rots because updating a doc costs forty minutes and answering in Slack costs ninety seconds, and ninety seconds wins every time.

Capture changes the first number. When re-recording costs about what answering costs, the doc gets replaced instead of quietly abandoned. That is the whole mechanism, and it is why "we need to be better about documentation" initiatives keep failing.

Scope one task, not one job
  • One SOP should answer one question and take one sitting to follow.
  • If your recording runs past about five minutes, it is probably two guides.
  • Small guides can be replaced individually. A forty-page manual can only be replaced by writing another forty-page manual.

When you do need the manual, the document builder combines guides into one, so you get the binder without giving up replaceable parts.

Where human effort should go

Capture handles the mechanics: steps, screenshots, highlights, redaction. What it cannot do is judgement, and that is the part that makes a guide worth following.

  • The warning on the step that looks fine but is not.
  • The note explaining why a step exists at all.
  • Deleting the stray clicks that were you finding your way.
Getting them out of Knovvy

Self-contained PDF, HTML and Markdown on every plan including free. HTML embeds its screenshots directly, so an exported SOP keeps working with no connection to us at all. Your process documentation is not hostage to a subscription.

Common questions

How do I keep SOPs accurate when tools change constantly?

Replace rather than repair. Re-capturing a changed workflow takes about two minutes and is correct by construction, where patching screenshots in an old document takes far longer and is correct only by hope.

Can I combine several SOPs into one manual?

Yes. The document builder combines guides into a single manual with free text between them, and exports to the same self-contained PDF, HTML, and Markdown. It is available on every plan including free.
