Roadmap

What we are building next, roughly in the order we mean to build it. Priorities move as we learn what teams actually need. This is our current thinking, not a delivery schedule.

Within the next month

What we are building now.

  • Workspace branding

    In progress

Your logo and colors on shared guides, embeds, and exports. The plan flag exists today but the branding itself does not, which is why free exports currently carry a Knovvy watermark and paid exports carry nothing.

  • Voice-assisted capture

    In progress

Narrate while you click and have what you said become the instruction text, instead of the generated "Click Save". The schema and the paywall are in place; only the video path transcribes today.

  • SAML single sign-onEnterprise

    Planned

Sign in through your identity provider instead of per-user credentials. The most requested blocker for rollouts above about fifty seats.

  • Workspace audit logEnterprise

    Planned

A queryable record of who viewed, changed, published, and revoked what. Today you can control access precisely but you cannot review it after the fact.

1 to 6 months

Next up.

  • SCIM provisioningEnterprise

    Planned

Automatic seat creation and removal from your directory, so leavers lose access without anyone remembering to do it.

  • Caption translation

    Planned

Transcription is English-only right now because that is what the current model is. Translated captions turn one recording into a guide several offices can use.

  • Slack and Google invites

    In progress

Invite teammates by picking them from Slack or your Google contacts rather than copying links around. Slack sign-in already works; the invite side does not.

  • SOC 2 Type IIEnterprise

    Planned

We have not begun an audit, and we would rather say that plainly than imply otherwise. It moves up the moment it is blocking real deals.

  • Stitching and on-video overlays

    Planned

Trimming, silence and filler cuts, reframing, and fades are real today. Combining several recordings into one, and drawing on the video itself, are not.

6+ months

Further out, but genuinely on the list.

  • Desktop capture

    Planned

Capture outside the browser, for the desktop applications and terminals that a Chrome extension cannot reach. The biggest single expansion of what Knovvy can document.

  • Guide Me replay

    Planned

Step through a guide as an overlay on the live application, so the reader follows along in place rather than switching between two windows.

  • Customer-managed keys and region pinningEnterprise

    Planned

Bring your own encryption keys, and pin your content to a specific region. Storage is already backend-agnostic, so this is a configuration surface rather than a rewrite.

  • Organization redaction policyEnterprise

    Planned

Workspace-wide rules for what is always blurred, on top of the automatic field detection that runs at capture time today.

  • Full-text search across the library

    Planned

Search inside guide steps and video transcripts, not just titles. Increasingly the thing that matters once a library passes a few hundred guides.

Recently released

Already in your hands.

  • Capture you can recover from

Extension 0.1.0: pause and resume, undo the last step, a resumable finish that cannot duplicate steps, and page-context auto-titling.

  • Annual billing on every paid plan

Starter, Pro, and Team billed yearly, with Team keeping its per-seat volume brackets on the annual cycle.

  • Structured data and llms.txt

Every marketing page prerendered with its own JSON-LD graph, plus an llms.txt map generated from the same page specs.

  • Document builder and real video trimming

Combine several guides into one manual, on every plan. Trims now render an actual MP4 rather than playback markers.

  • Analytics, embeds, and per-item sharing

View analytics for Team workspaces, embeddable guides and videos, and granular view/edit/manage grants with optional expiry.

  • Passwordless sign-in

Email links, Google, and Slack. Sessions are revocable server-side records rather than self-contained tokens.

Items marked Enterprise are governance features aimed at larger rollouts. Everything without that tag lands on regular plans, including free where it makes sense.
